Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Tash Young Counsellor Psychodynamic Therapy Brighton

HELPING YOU MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR LIFE

Tash Pic1.jpg

I am a fully qualified, experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, working with adults from all backgrounds and life experiences.

I believe talk therapy provides a powerful, reflective space created between two people. In this space, all aspects of life can be thought about and explored safely- even the most difficult experiences, thoughts and feelings.

I am trained in psychodynamic thinking, which means I have a special interest in how the unconscious affects us in everyday life and how early life experiences can impact on us as adults. However, there is no expectation to talk about your past if this is something you are not currently interested in. Counselling should be as individual as you are. I will support you to work through what feels important at the time.

There are many reasons why people seek therapy. Sometimes they seek help due to distress and overwhelming thoughts or feelings; other times simply from a position of curiosity. Whatever the reason, I will seek to build a relationship with you that is open and trustworthy, so I can best understand you and support you to understand yourself better. Therapy can help you manage your emotions, understand yourself better and/ or be able to understand and tell your own life story.

If you are not sure if counselling is right for you at the moment, or whether I could help, please get in touch and I will be happy to make a time to talk it through with you. I will never try and persuade you to have counselling or psychotherapy.

Everyone is welcome.

My intention is to offer a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your internal world and find a way to make the most of your life, in a way that feels true for you.

I aim to be actively welcoming and inclusive. My approach is one that makes room for you, whatever your race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, spiritual beliefs, culture,  political position or physical condition. Please feel welcome to be yourself and let me know if you need any specific support to enable your full involvement in therapy.
